Paris FC held to draw by Como in pre-season opener

Paris FC were held to a 2-2 draw by Como on Thursday 23 July 2026 in a closed-doors pre-season friendly. The match, played in three periods, served as Como’s first test ahead of their Champions League campaign. The Lombardy side took the lead through Gabrielloni, but Paris FC fought back with two goals from Pagis. Douvikas equalised late to settle the final score.

How did the match unfold?

Paris FC lined up in a 4-3-3 formation with Trapp in goal, Camara, Coppola, De Smeth and Kore in defence, Matondo, Lees-Melou and Pagis in midfield, and Kebbal, Geubbels and Simon Moses up front. Manager Rosenior oversaw the team’s first summer outing.

Como struck first through Gabrielloni in the 25th minute, but Pagis equalised for Paris FC in the 30th. In the second period, Pagis added a second goal in the 5th minute, before Douvikas pulled one back in the 26th of the third period to secure the draw.

Why this match matters for Paris FC

This friendly marks the start of Paris FC’s pre-season build-up ahead of the 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign. With a 12th-place finish in the 2025 final table (35 points, 8 wins, 11 draws, 10 losses), the side must improve despite an eight-goal deficit (37 scored, 45 conceded).

28 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain, Paris FC need to tighten their defence and find consistency in attack. The absence of Nordi Mukiele, Joao Neves, Senny Mayulu, Presnel Kimpembe and Kimpembe Presnel adds further challenges for Rosenior.

What’s next for Paris FC

Paris FC continue their pre-season schedule with a 45-minute clash against AlUla SC on 29 July, followed by Villarreal later that day. They face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on 12 August and Liverpool at Anfield on 16 August.

With a tight season ahead, every detail counts. The Parisians must use these friendlies to fine-tune their squad and tactics before the competitive return.
